So every Christmas I usually try to make some sort of Christmassy dessert for the big day and up until a day or two before Christmas Day I was planning on making a pudding cheesecake which I’d made at the beginning of the month. I’m not a huge cheesecake fan and this cheesecake was particularly heavy so I decided I’d try my favourite type of dessert with a Christmas twist and found the perfect recipe on the BBC food website, http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/christmas_pavlova_20589#recipe-tips, you can’t go wrong with a classic Mary Berry recipe. Christmas Yule Log
This is one of my favourite Christmas desserts that has now become a tradition to make every Christmas Eve. I have tried different recipes but I always come back to Mary Cadogan’s recipe on BBC Good Food (http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3049/yule-chocolate-log). It’s a really easy recipe to follow and always results in a deliciously moist chocolate log. Normally I would use a cream filling but this year I said I’d make it a proper death by chocolate style log, so I followed exactly what the recipe suggested. Continue reading “Christmas Yule Log”
Daim cookies

So just a heads up if you do plan to make these cookies be prepared to wait a few hours. I melted 150g of unsalted butter and left it to cool down. Continue reading “Daim cookies”
Christmas Brownies
The holidays have officially started and to celebrate I made my usual brownies from The Hummingbird cafe and added a little festive twist to them. Brownies are always a winner, who doesn’t a good ole fudgy brownie. To make them even more indulgent I topped them with a Lindt chocolate ganache, Chantilly cream and a strawberry for one of my five a day, ha! Continue reading “Christmas Brownies”
Xmas baking Day 2….
This has to be by far my favourite time of year when it comes to baking and I’m sure every baker feels the same. I have a pile of foodie magazines (mainly GoodFood, Delicious and Good Housekeeping) where I have cornered several recipes that I cannot wait to try. Now if there were just more hours in the day then I could get around to baking them all. So yesterday I made florentine biscuits and I got the recipe from the GoodFood Christmas magazine.
